First Grade Trip
The First Grade trip is where Outdoor Education begins! Students travel to the Organ Mountains—Desert Peaks National Monument near Dripping Springs, NM to participate in a day hike that focuses on the natural surroundings and plant and animal life found along this trail.
The class travels in small groups and begins learning the basics of hiking and sound outdoor skills. Highlights of this trip include La Cueva and El Ermitano. This cave has a story all its own, and it’s one that is only made better by first graders.
