Third Grade Trip

The Third Grade travels to the ruins at Gran Quivira in the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument near Mountainair, NM.
The students study ancient civilization and learn archeology hands-on through participation in a dig, as they unearth shards of pottery, pieces of charcoal, and other artifacts. Our evening is spent at Sacramento Camp & Conference Center in Sacramento, NM, where we’ll participate in team building activities and everyone can rest for a hike the next day. Nestled in the Sacramento Mountains and surrounded by Lincoln National Forest, the trails on Sacramento’s property provide a beautiful backdrop for hiking and many opportunities for students to learn about the world around us while practicing Leave No Trace principles.
